Staff at the USP avoid pay cuts

Staff at the University of the South Pacific won't have their pay cut after all.

The university announced a five percent pay cut in August, saying it was facing a financial crisis, because of the actions of previous administrations.

But the Fiji Times quotes the Vice Chancellor Professor Rajesh Chandra as now saying the finances look reasonable at this stage, making a pay cut unnecessary.

He says a review will be conducted in July.
