The Samoa government is set to purchase nearly two hectares of land in South Auckland.
Officials say the government has plans to relocate its Samoa Consul office in Auckland City to the new site.
There are also plans to build a convention centre for the Samoan community.
The Minister of Finance, Niko Lee Hang, says the centre can also be used by Samoan businesses in New Zealand as a market place to sell their products.
More than one million US dollars has been allocated for the initiative in the 2008/2009 supplementary budget tabled this week.
Meanwhile, the government's proposed supplementary budget for the current financial year has also allocated more than a million US dollars from the Valued Added Goods Tax to help subsidise the cost of electricity in the country.
