Samoa to host religious freedom, law and culture symposium

1:27 pm on 18 November 2008

Samoa is to host its first symposium on religious freedom, law and culture next month.

Close to 200 delegates from local religions, ethnic, academic, and business groups will attend.

Organisers say the event will examine a wide range of issues relating to religious freedom in the country in order to achieve mutual respect between religious groups, law makers and individual citizens.

The symposium is scheduled to be opened by Samoa's head of state, Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi.
