Consumers in American Samoa are getting a break in their utility bills for October as fuel prices, which began to decline in September, continue to drop worldwide.

Last month, the American Samoa Power Authority, or ASPA, announced it was projecting a 16 percent decrease in electricity bills for the month of

October.

ASPA chief executive officer, Michael Keyser, says the October rate is down as is the charge for water.

He says consumers can expect another significant drop in November's billings.

This month, the average residential customer will pay 131 US dollars.
