Two people in Papua New Guinea are dead and a third has become completely blind as a result of drinking methanol.
The newspaper, The National reports that the third person has been admitted to Port Moresby General Hospital after drinking the toxic chemical as a substitute for alcohol.
The three were identified by the hospital chief executive, Dr Alphonse Tay, as staff of the hospital.
