High Performance Unit manager to leave Fiji at the end of the year

The Fiji Rugby Union has announced that the High Performance Unit manager Peter Murphy will leave at the end of the year.

Murphy, who has been instrumental in the successful running of the Unit for the last three years won't have his contract renewed when his term ends in December.

FRU chief executive officer Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua while respecting Murphy's decision to move on he will be missed.

Murphy has contributed much to Fiji Rugby in terms of development of rugby in the country, looking after the welfare of players better, getting the High Performance Unit up and running and the most memorable is helping the national side reach the quarterfinal finish at last years Rugby World Cup in France.

Tavanavanua says work has begun to find a suitable replacement.
