A march reported to have been planned for Thursday in Solomon Islands, a day before a planned motion of no-confidence, is unlikely to go ahead.
The march, said to have been planned by a group calling itself the Grassroots Network, was to be a protest at rising prices.
But the police say the Commissioner held discussions with the organisers and it now won't be held.
The Solomon Island's government has accused the opposition of trying to stir up unrest.
The Deputy Opposition Leader, Japhet Waipora, in turn accuses the Deputy Prime Minister of fabricating allegations for political gain.
But he says if the people are dissatisfied, they should be allowed to march
"If they are doing it then it is the democratic right of the people of this country to do when they see they are not satisfied with the government because at the moment the people are unhappy, throughout the country, they are unhappy because the government has never been delivering on the services they promised to deliver for the last 8 months."

The police say extra security is already in place due to the planned motion of no confidence and the sitting of parliament.
