American Samoan representatives travel to Solomon Islands

Two officials of the American Samoa Government traveled to Honiara yesterday with the Solomons Islands delegation that was in the country for the Pacific Arts Festival.

Executive Director of the Arts Festival Committee Lauti Simona and Parks and Recreation Director Taamu Iakopo, were chosen by Governor Togiola Tulafono to transport home the body of Solomon Islands wood carver George Garry who died while at the festival.

In a prayer service prayer before the group's departure, lt. governor Faoa Ipulasi Sunia said it was proper for the two talking chiefs to accompany home Mr. Garry's body.

Two large floral wreaths were presented by the government and Arts festival organizing Committee.
