SamoaTel customers will have to pay more for basic services from Samoa's largest telephone company.
SamoaTel is increasing charges for residential and business rentals, local phone calls and long distance calls made over the internet.
The monthly rental charge for residential phones is up $3, increasing from $19 to $21 and the rental fee for business lines is up $4 going from $29 to $33.
Local calls will now cost 5 cents per minute up from 4 cents, and calls on the internet will be 2 cents a minute instead of one cent a minute.
