Petrol prices are going up again in American Samoa and motorists can expect to pay between $4.83 and $4.85 for a gallon of gasoline by the weekend.
At present average petrol prices in the territory are between $4.73 and $4.75 a gallon.
Diesel fuel goes up by 15 cents a gallon and aviation fuel rises 22 cents a gallon.
Sione Kava from the Office of Petroleum Management says a contributing factor in the latest price hike is crude oil, which has increased due to political turmoil in Nigeria, where refineries are shutting down.
