Gasoline prices in American Samoa will increase again later this week after the release of new data by the government's Office of Petroleum Management.
The new increase of about seven cents a gallon will put the new average retail price at between 4 US dollars and 75 cents and $4.78 per gallon.
Sione Kava from the Office of Petroleum Management says there is not much American Samoa can do about the increases because it's something outside local control.
However, he says American Samoa prices are still lower than other Pacific countries, such as Tonga where price is about 7 US dollars a gallon.
Kava said other petroleum products such as jet fuel, kerosene and dissel fuel also faced an increase.
