The strike by Solomon Telekom workers took another turn last night when most of Honiara and the provinces telecommunication links were cut.

Two main fibre optic cables running from the company's main switch were deliberately cut last night.

Solomon Telekom officials confirm the lines supply most provincial telecommunication services.

The strike, which is into its second week has, affected many services including the banks, hospitals, police emergency lines and private companies.

Striking workers say the Chief Executive Officer, Martyn Robinson, is responsible for the introduction of a Sex Line Service.

They say the service is immoral and claim it has generated most of the company's profit.

The staff are demanding an investigation into the Sex Line Service and that the CEO be held accountable.

A extraordinary board of directors meeting is to held tomorrow to deal with the industrial action.
