Papua New Guinea struggling to pay for team for Touch World Cup

The President of the Papua New Guinea touch association, Joseph Yore, says they're working hard to ensure they get a team

PNG are ranked third in the Oceania region after their efforts at the Samoa Games last year.

However, Yore says the game is very popular in PNG but getting a side together especially for the world Cup in New Zealand next year is always difficult because of the makeup of PNG.

"We are scattered unlike other Pacific nations. They are probably in one or two locations, if you look at our map we are in 19 different provinces and trying to coordinate an annual championships and that sort of thing you get people to fly in which is a very expensive way to conduct a sport."
