The general manager of Pacific Development Incorporated or PDI says the start of charter flights to Rota in the Northern Marianas will go as scheduled at the end of the month.
Yoichi Matsumura says that PDI, as well as its mother company in Japan, Kinki Nippon Tourist, are hyped up for the start of charter flights to the CNMI's southernmost island.
He told the Saipan Tribune that all the three Rota charter flights are full and Japan as well as Rota is very excited to get the 'maiden' flight going on April 26.
The tourism industry on Rota received a boost in February 2008 when it was announced that KNT said that it would bring in 40 new charter flights to Rota in the next couple of years.
The Rota charter flights are expected to bring in some 8,000 tourists to Rota in about a year.
