The Fiji Law Society is expected to seek a response from the Interim Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, later this week on allegations that he took an illegal oath when he joined the interim government.

The society's President, Isireli Fa, confirmed the Interim Attorney General will be given the opportunity to respond before any further steps are taken regarding the complaint.

The complaint was received from a member of the public.

The Interim Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed Khiayum, told Fijivillage that since hearing about the complaint through the media some two weeks ago, he has not received anything in writing from the Law Society on the matter.
