American Samoa's House of Representatives will not make a decision anytime soon on a bill which would exempt non US certified doctors from having to obtain a United States Medical License.
The Health Committee Chairman Representative, Paopao Fiaui, says that after the latest hearing on the licensing legislation it's apparent that changes need to be made to the Senate bill.
The Hospital Authority Board opposes the bill saying it will lower health care standards and affect federal funding for the hospital.
The policy affects 26 doctors, mostly graduates of the Fiji School of Medicine some of whom have worked for more than 30 years.
The House will not be able to make any amendments to the bill until its next session in July.
