The Constitutional Offices Commission in Fiji has identified a New Zealand legal professional for the position of Supervisor of Elections.
The Commission's chairman, Rishi Ram, told Fiji Live online it had identified the suitable candidate, whose identity is being withheld until he is notified.
He says the candidate possesses extensive work experience in the Pacific region.
He says the Constitutional Offices Commission is currently in the process of notifying the successful candidate and finalising the details of his contract.
Mr Ram says it is envisaged that the candidate will assume the duties of the post in six to eight weeks time.
The New Zealand candidate will replace former elections supervisor Semesa Karavaki who was removed by the interim regime following the December 2006 coup.
