US military delays shooting down of spy satellite

The United States military says it may have to delay shooting down an out of control spy satellite because of bad weather.

Military officials say waves in the Pacific are to big for warships to get into a correct position to fire a specially modified missile.

The landing of the space shuttle Atlantis in Florida means a window of opportunity is available to destroy the satellite.

Officials say the out of control satellite contains a potential toxic gas and want to destroy it before it enters the earth's atmopshere.
