The key Highlands Highway in Papua New Guinea has been blocked by a landslide.
The Post Courier newspaper reports that a massive landslip following continuous rain at Daulo Pass has cut off the Highlands provinces and hampered access to key resources development projects in Enga and Southern Highlands.
The landslip occurred at the same location where part of a mountain collapsed, cutting off the Highway last week.
The Eastern Highlands provincial works manager Steven Sapalo says the latest slip is three times bigger than last week's slip which saw the flow of traffic come to a standstill for a week.
He says will take up to 20 days to clear the debris.
Meanwhile millions of kina of coffee could be lost after a road near Kainantu in Eastern Highlands was wrecked by flooding.
The plantations are reporting bumper crops but fear hundreds of tonnes of coffee will not be delivered to the factories because the road is out of action.
