Two Australian Federal Police officers have flown to Vanuatu to help investigate the suspected murder of an elderly Australian woman.

A police spokeswoman says the two forensic specialists travelled to Port Vila at the request of Vanuatu police.

The 69-year-old victim was found on Monday morning by her gardener at her house in Devil's Point near the capital.

Vanuatu police said it appeared her house had been robbed.
