Fiji's deposed prime minister, Laisenia Qarase, has threatened legal action against the interim administration if it does not review its decision not to grant him a pension.
The Fijilive news website says Mr Qarase has described the decision as "most unfortunate and not right."
Mr Qarase says there is well established legislation that former prime ministers are entitled to pensions.
He says under the same legislation Sitiveni Rabuka and Mahendra Chaudhry are paid pensions as former prime ministers.
The interim government has allocated 63-thousand US dollars in the 2006 budget for the pensions of former parliamentarians and prime ministers.
But in the interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, was quoted as saying Mr Qarase did not deserve anything on the grounds that a lot of matters concerning his removal are before the courts.
Mr Qarase says he will seek legal redress if the interim administration does not change its stand.
