Nauru government to face vote of no confidence

4:32 pm on 14 November 2007

A rebel faction within the Nauru Government is believed to be planning a vote of no confidence in the adminstration of Ludwig Scotty today.

At the weekend key ministers Dr Kieren Keke, Frederick Pitcher and Roland Kun broke away after raising concerns over the style of governance of David Adeang, who holds both the Foreign Affairs and Finance portfolios.

They have called on the President to act on a number of reports and allegations involving Mr Adeang.

One report from the island says the government has appointed two opposition MPs to the vacant Cabinet posts.
