Pacific Forum concludes first ever plenary Post-Forum dialogue session

8:01 pm on 18 October 2007

Members of the Pacific Forum have concluded the first ever plenary session with their 14 Post Forum Dialogue, or PFD, partners after the Leaders Summit in Tonga.

As agreed to by Forum Leaders at their meeting last year, this year has seen the introduction of a new PFD process.

From this year on the PFD is to be held in the form of a plenary at leader and ministerial level, in lieu of the previous practice where PFD Partners held individual dialogues with the Forum.

The new Forum Chair, Tonga's Prime Minister Dr Feleti Sevele, briefed the Plenary Session on the 38th Forum decisions as contained in the Communique issued after the retreat in Vava'u yesterday.
