The Cook Islands have picked up two gold medals and created history along the way.

The first ever women's touch team to any South Pacific Games beat Samoa 3-1 to take gold.

Captaining the team was Maine Vale, and while that was happening her mother was collecting the Cook Islands second gold in the triples bowls where they also retained their title

A proud moment for Vale.

"I am speechless. All I can put it down to is great team work. We played as a team, we supported one another and we pulled it together and everything that we had been training for came to fruition -absolutely amazing"
