Fiji politics irrelevant to NZ Fiji trade

The New Zealand Pacific Business Council says it is not concerned about the political differences between New Zealand and Fiji.

Council member Mike Flanagan told the Fiji Times their relationship with their Fiji counterparts is purely commercial and they are not concerned about the political environment.

Mr Flanagan says many New Zealanders still consider Fiji to be a tourist mecca and their perceptions are not affected by the stand off between the two governments.

He says Fiji is still the single biggest Pacific market for New Zealand exports and it also imports a substantial amount of Fiji produce.
