The New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister, Winston Peters, confirmed this morning that a New Zealand journalist has been detained by the authorities in Fiji.
Michael Field was one of several New Zealand journalists who flew to Fiji last night to report on the expulsion of New Zealand's High Commissioner
Mr Peters says he is still waiting for details on Michael Field's detention .
"I understand it was late last night and we haven't at this point received any information at all , but we do think we know where he is."
Meanwhile Mr Peters says Fiji's High Commissioner in New Zealand will not be sent home in retaliation for the action over Mr Green.
