Samoa's Police Commissioner, Papali'i Lorenese Neru, has been unavailable to answer media enquiries about the latest sexual allegation against a senior police officer who was formerly attached to the fire service.

A source within the police says the senior officer is alleged to have sexually abused a police woman.

The incident according to police sources is alleged to have occurred in a police out-post.

It is the third instance of senior officer being accused of sexual misconduct and abuse in almost two months

The growing number of sexual allegations against senior officers has prompted a call from several senior police officers for the government to set up a Commission of Inquiry.
