Fiji's Roneel Sharma and Kieran Prasad-Lyons were amongst the leading scorers after two rounds of the at the Oceania Zonal Chess championships in Nadi.
Sharma drew his first round match against Papua New Guinean champion, Stuart Fancy, and upset Alex Mendes da Costa of Australia in the second.
Lyons ,Fiji's top board player at last year's Turin Olympiad, had a draw and a win.
