Some of the smaller airstrips in the parts of Solomon Islands affected by the earthquake and tsunami are yet to be confirmed as clear.
Supplies have been flown into Gizo in Western Province and it is thought the airstrip in Taro, the provincial capital of Choiseul Province may also be useable.
But the difficulties of getting to more remote places are still hampering relief efforts and a government spokesman, Alfred Maesulia, says it could still be some time before some places are checked:
"It will take maybe this week and maybe next week before most of the relief supplies reach those people in the affected areas."
Mr Maesulia says most villagers are staying in hillside camps as aftershocks are still being felt around the town of Gizo.
