A Tropical Cyclone Alert is now in force in the north of Fiji.
A flash flood warning has been issued for the eastern parts of Vanua Levu, including Labasa, Savusavu, Taveuni and the northern Lau group
Forecasters in Nadi say the system is intensifying and may develop into a cyclone within the next 12 to 24 hours.
On its current track, the system may bring damaging gale force winds.
