The Sharks 27-14 win over the Hurricanes in Durban leaves the South African side unbeaten at the top after seven weeks of rugby's Super 14 competition.

The Sharks have six wins and scored four tries to one against the Hurricanes to secure their first bonus point.

They have 25 points -- two clear of the Blues -- who had a bye -- with the Perth-based Western Force third on 21, three clear of the Bulls after the South African side lost to the Crusaders in Christchurch.

The defending champions are fifth with 17 points, the same as the sixth-placed Cheetahs, who are one clear of the Highlanders and another South African side the Lions.

The ACT Brumbies, the Hurricanes and the Stormers have 14 points --- two clear of rthe Chiefs in 12th with the New South Wales Waratahs and Queensland Reds anchoring the table.
