Two Fiji businesses in Savusavu have organised a fundraising drive among the town's business community for victims of the recent floods in the Northern Division.
The Fiji Times newspaper reports that the directors of Sambhu Lal Construction Cakaudrove Hardware organised the drive.
Donations came in the form of bags of rice, cartons of biscuits, noodles, tinned fish and other items which taken to areas worst affected by the flood and distributed mid-last month.
Close to 10 villages were assisted with food items worth over 2,000 US dollars.
