The fifth week of Super 14 rugby union competition saw South Africa dominate, four New Zealand losses and Australia produce another miserable weekend.

It was a 16 all draw for the two Australian franchises, New South Wales Waratahs and Western Force.

The Chiefs pick up another bonus point but not a win with their 22 all draw against the Cheetahs in South Africa.

The Hurricanes failed to perform and paid the price with their 30-17 loss to the Stormers in Palmerston North.

The visiting South African teams notched up wins against their Australian hosts, with the Bulls beating the Brumbies 19-7, while the Lions beat Queensland reds 26-20..

And defending champions Crusaders were beaten 27-26 in Durban.

The Blues hold onto a slender two point lead at the top of the table with the Sharks and Lions holding second they're followed by the Bulls and Hurricanes who complete the top five places
