Samoa's Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet this week have called for applications to fill 35 seasonal workers urgently needed for Mr. Apple Company in New Zealand.
It is the first company to have approached the government before the seasonal workers scheme for six pacific countries including Samoa will start in two months time.
The ministry's chief executive officer, Auseugaefa Va'asatia, says the company's request for the government to handle the process is a good trial ahead of the scheme in April.
The CEO says the 35 temporary workers who will be leaving on March 10, is not part of the seasonal scheme but it is under the AIP or approval in principal programme of the New Zealand Labour department.
Applications are expected to have reached more than one hundred according to Auseugaefa when it closes on Thursday (NZ time).
The ministry has set out the criteria's for the eight weeks job offer where only Samoan citizens can apply and must be 20 to 45 years old.
They should be also medically fit and have a clean police record and was never deported from an overseas country.
