Problems in the Pacific are high on the agenda for discussions between New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark and her Australian counterpart John Howard today.
Mr Howard is in Wellington for the annual meeting between leaders.
Last night, anti-Iraq-war protesters disrupted their arrival at a dinner at Premier House, resulting in three arrests.
Earlier, Mr Howard spoke of the strong friendship between New Zealand and Australia, saying the partnership for dealing with challenges in the Pacific - including Solomon Islands and Fiji - has never been stronger.
"We can be sure that whatever differences on detail may emerge in our approaches, we share the values in the institutions and attitudes that are going to respond in the right fashion."
