Air Tahiti to launch Rarotonga flights in April

The French Polynesia's domestic carrier, Air Tahiti, will launch flights to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands in early April.

This follows a decision by Air New Zealand to drop its service between Papeete and Rarotonga.

The CEO of Air Tahiti, Christian Vernaudon, has told the Tahitipresse news agency that the link may not be very profitable but significant for the general development of tourism.

The airline plans to have two flights a week and sell some of the tickets in co-operation with Air Rarotonga.
