Fiji's president Ratu Josefa Iloilo has sworn in the first eight members of an interim administration led by army commander Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
Included in the group are former environment minister Poseci Bune who becomes interim minister for the Public Service, and former speaker of parliament, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, who is the new interim minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade.
Suva lawyer Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has been appointed the interim Justice Minister and Attorney General, while former senator Lady Laufitu Malani has been appointed the interim Minister for Women and Social welfare.
A further eight ministers are being sworn in this morning..
One of them could be Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry who is believed to have been offered the post of interim minister for Finance, National Planning, Public Enterprise and Sugar.
The website Fiji-live says it is understood that he has also been offered the deputy prime ministership.
