The American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency has lifted the boil water notice issued last Thursday.

Commander Steve Anderson of the EPA says results of the latest water samples were clear of any presence of fecal choliform therefore the boil water notice was lifted at 8:45 yesterday morning.

Commander Anderson said that residents no longer have to boil their water for drinking , cooking or other household uses.

The boil water notice was issued last Thursday after tests showed the presence of e-coli bacteria.

This is found in animal and human waste and can lead to vomiting, diarrhea and skin infections.
