Solomon Islands Department of Agriculture and Livestock revives country's cattle industry

Solomon Islands Department of Agriculture and Livestock is reviving the country's cattle industry.

The department's Permanent Secretary Israel Wore says it is embarking on a new partnership approach with interested landowners to pursue the cattle rehabilitation program.

The cattle industry in Solomons declined in the 1980's.

Currently, Solomon Islands imports beef products, at an annual cost of 1.2 million US dollars.
