Officials from Samoa and New Zealand will meet in New Zealand next month to set up a framework to allow seasonal workes from Samoa to take up jobs in New Zealand.

This follows an announcement by the New Zealand government last month to grant a measure of labour mobility to Pacific Islands countries.

The issue was raised during last Friday's reguar bilateral talks in Wellington.

A statement acknowledges Samoa's continued interest in gaining access for its fruits and vegetables to New Zealand.

The two sides welcomed a decision for a Biosecurity New Zealand risk analyst to work only on Pacific issues.
