PNG forest minister says criticism is easy

Papua New Guinea's tropical timber business is faced with problems on forest law enforcement which could prevent sustainable management and trade in the global market.

The newspaper, The National, says the Forest Minister Patrick Pruaitch gave a speech at the international tropical timber council session in Japan which was presented on his behalf by Ambassador Michael Maue.

Mr Pruaitch said it was easy to criticise the producer-members that forest law enforcement and governance are weak and require improvements.
