The Fiji police are continuing their investigation into whether the army commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, made seditious remarks.
The police commissioner, Andrew Hughes, says they will be relying on legal advice to determine that.
Mr Hughes says he is seeking a one on one meeting with the commander prior to police approaching him for an interview.
"What we're doing at this stage is basing the investigation to find out whether the comments amount to sedition and that will rely heavily on legal advice and at the appropriate moment, when we've gathered our evidence. So, the director of public prosecutions will be deciding whether there is prima facie a case to be made for sedition."
