The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and Thailand have signed an agreement to foster development and trade.
The Development Cooperation Framework Action Plan will allow for technical assistance to be provided to members of the Forum in a number of sectors.
The arrangement will support the Pacific Plan and provide a framework for increased co-operation.
It will have a strong educational emphasis with Thailand providing more scholarships for Forum nationals, and an expansion of other forms of information exchange in agriculture, tourism, education and health.
Thailand and Forum countries will also promote trade between each other and encourage more Thai investment in the Pacific.
