Samoa's newly elected woman MP for Fa'asalele'aga number two constituency, Letoa Rita Pa'u Chang, has filed a counter petition which includes nine counts of bribery and treating against her petitioner, Papali'i Samuelu Petaia.

The by-election was called after the woman MP's father Pa'u Sefo Pa'u was forced out of the deat after he was found guilty of the same charges.

The woman MP alleges that the petitioner had gifted money, food, and alcohol to several voters before the by-election on September the 22nd.

The case has been adjourned until November 6th for hearing.
