Samoa's police commissioner under investigation over car crash

Samoa police are investigating the Police Commissioner following a car crash over the weekend.

Papali'i Lorenese Neru was the driver of an office car which skidded off the road and crashed into a hedge early Sunday morning.

One witness at the scene had told the local TV news crew that several police officers at the scene told him not to tell anybody about the accident.

The commissioner is on leave but the acting police commissioner, Papali'i Li'o, says charges could be laid against the commissioner if there's enough evidence to suggest that he broke the law.
