A landowner in the Northern Marianas has filed a lawsuit against Singapore based investors and the Commonwealth Ports Authority over the alleged destruction of his land used for the Rota airport runway improvement project.
The Saipan Tribune reports Glenn Manglona is suing OKP Corporation, OKP Holdings Limited, the Commonwealth Ports Authority and 26 individuals after work on the 8.6 million U.S. dollar project started.
Mr Manglona is suing the defendants for negligence, emotional distress, fraudulent misrepresentation and the conversion of soil plants and other minerals.
His lawyer has asked the Superior Court to order the defendants to pay damages, restitution, attorney's fees and court costs.
