American Samoa Governor Togiola Tulafono has signed into law legislation that he will give the majority of pensioners a two per cent cost of living allowance
The increase is for government employees who retired on or before Sept. 30, 2004.
The Retirement Fund's executive director Filisouaiga Pili Ta'afua says about 88 percent of the current 1,400-plus retirees will benefit from the new increase that is back-dated to Sept. 30, 2004.
