All 20 members of the American Samoan House of Representatives have put their names to a resolution which requests the governor to consider the Manua islands for the proposed training site for the US military.

A similar resolution was approved by the Senate last week.

The resolution refers to the inter-Samoa talks where the issue of a military training site on Samoa's Savai'i island was first discussed.

The Governor, Togiola Tulafono, asked the Samoan prime minister, Tuilaepa Sailele, for land on Savai'i for a training site for soldiers and law enforcement personnel.

The House resolution states that using Manua would be cost effective as travel and lodging would be cheaper.

It says there would be no need to follow a foreign country's immigration requirements.
