The Samoan government is bringing in hotel investors to develop tourism.

Three overseas hotel chains - Sheraton, Hilton, and Reddy group from Fiji, have shown interest in a hotel development at Mulifanua, next to the inter island wharf and near the new Aggie Grey's Resort and Spa .

The minister of Environment and Natural Resources, Faumuina Liuga, says the government has plans to free up over 200 acres of Samoa Trust Estates land at Mulifanua for hotel development.

This includes beachfront locations next to the wharf overlooking Manono and Apolima islands.

Another hotel development by Warwick International in the area is currently being negotiated.

The minister says fifty other businesses have applied for land on the site.
