Air Tahiti Nui pulls out of New York-Paris leg

French Polynesia's international carrier, Air Tahiti Nui, says it will discontinue its service from New York to Paris at the end of October.

This follows problems to make the flights economically viable.

The airline is tipped to incur more losses this year.

In 2005, it introduced new direct routes to Sydney and New York but failed to fill the planes as planned.
